Sanctuary AI is focused on creating human-like artificial intelligence in general-purpose robots. Their flagship product is Phoenix, a humanoid robot designed to perform a wide range of tasks across various industries. Phoenix is powered by Carbon, an innovative AI control system that gives the robot human-like intelligence and the ability to learn and execute complex tasks.

Sanctuary AI's robots are designed to closely mimic the human form and function, standing at 5'7" and weighing 155 lbs. The robots can lift payloads up to 55 lbs and move at a maximum speed of three miles per hour.

As of April 2024, the seventh generation of Phoenix can automate new tasks in less than 24 hours, a significant milestone in task automation speed and autonomous system capability.

Sanctuary AI's robots have been successfully deployed in commercial settings, completing hundreds of tasks across various industries, including retail, logistics, healthcare, and manufacturing. In March 2023, the company announced its first commercial deployment with a major Canadian retailer, where the robots performed front-of-store and logistics tasks.

In April 2024, the company announced a collaboration with Magna International, a global mobility technology company. This partnership includes the deployment of Sanctuary AI's robots in Magna's manufacturing operations, as well as a joint effort to improve the cost and scalability of the robots using Magna's automotive expertise and engineering capabilities.

Additionally, Sanctuary AI has partnered with Microsoft to leverage the tech giant's Azure cloud resources for AI workloads. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development of AI models for humanoid robots, enabling Sanctuary AI to explore the future of general-purpose robots across various use cases and industries.
