Hayden AI develops AI-powered smart traffic enforcement technologies. Its cloud-based platform allows cities and transport operators to enforce traffic laws and automatically process traffic violations that tap into cities' existing traffic infrastructure, eliminating the need for expensive hardware installations. The firm has developed patented smart onboard sensors and mobile perception systems equipped with computer vision and edge processing, which coupled with its platform, generates a digital twin of the city's roads and curbsides in real time. The platform combines AI with mobile sensors that can see and reason in 3D to simulate scenarios and generate insights for traffic, parking, and curbside management. It also offers “safeSense,” a mobile road safety app that turns a smartphone into a dashcam that detects traffic violations in real time, allowing users to report and receive alerts on road obstructions and reckless driving.

Key customers and partnerships

The firm's platform has been used by city municipalities and transport operators including Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transport Authority for managing transit and schoolbuses as well as street sweepers. The firm planned to expand its services to provide solutions for streetcars.

In January 2022, the firm partnered with Conduent, a global provider of public transportation solutions, to develop a bus-mounted perception system that allows for automated bus lane enforcement. In August 2022, the company partnered with NVIDIA Metropolis, a video analytics and applications developer, to utilize NVIDIA’s vision AI tools to strengthen its patented perception platform. In November 2023, the company introduced a new product for its Vision AI platform: Automated Bike Lane Enforcement, which aims to improve safety and accessibility for cyclists by addressing illegal parking in bike lanes.

In September 2024, the City of Tallinn collaborated with Hayden AI to pilot automated bus lanes and bus stop monitoring to determine the number of traffic violations in Tallinn's city centre.
