Mission Control offers a recreational and competitive gaming management platform for communities and organizations. Mission Control’s mobile app allows gamers to join leagues hosted by organizations such as local park departments and college recreation departments among others, while the league is managed by Mission Control. These tournaments can be either in-person or online. The platform follows a fixed fee plus a tiered recurring monthly subscription structure with plans ranging from USD 55 to USD 275 per month and allows up to 500 active users on its highest tier. A one-time establishment fee is charged (ranges between USD 750 to USD 3,000), and if a custom league charges a registration fee, 10% of this will accrue to Mission Control.

In July 2020, Mission Control raised USD 1.75 million in a seed funding round led by Dundee Venture Capital, followed by a member of the firm joining the Mission Control board. The round is reported to have valued the company between USD 6 million and USD 10 million. The round also included participation from M25, Cultivation Capital, and MATH Venture Partners. The funds were allocated for platform development and customer acquisition.

In June 2021, Mission Control entered into a partnership with North American movie theatre chain Cinemark Holdings. As part of the deal, select US theaters out of Cinemark’s 523 nationwide theatres will host weekly gaming events. Initially, the events will be limited to Nintendo Switch titles including Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Kart 8, and Rocket League with gamers invited to drop in for competitive tournaments. Together, the two companies announced Cinemark Esports, which will offer online esports leagues for a range of games including FIFA 21, NBA 2K21, and Call of Duty. For drop-in tournaments, each participant will be charged a USD 10 entry fee and league entry will cost USD 15.
