The eFuse platform provides a hub for esports and gaming led by an experienced team including CEO Patrick Shuff, former Facebook and Netflix engineer and advisor Anthony Muraco, former director of gaming operations with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA. eFuse attracted more than 500,000 new users to its platform in 2020. In June 2021, eFuse launched “Pipeline”, a program that ranks the top 100 college-eligible players. The grassroots program supports League of Legends and Valorant, and uses an Aim Lab-specific ranking system to identify talent. Pipeline confirms the players’ identity, in-game statistics & rankings, academic data, and their college objectives. Coaches can then recruit talent that best meets their requirements. As of June 2021, eFuse was working with more than 70 US colleges.

eFuse acquired global esports media outlet Esports.gg for an undisclosed amount in May 2022 . The acquisition was motivated by eFuse’s strategy to support its growing gamer community and strengthen its content division to unlock additional revenue opportunities.

In July 2023 , eFuse restructured its three main business arms into separate entities. The company's assets will operate independently as erena, Esports.gg, and sidekick, while eFuse will continue to function as a holding entity. The restructuring was undertaken due to the maturation of each asset into standalone products. The company stated that while the assets were complementary and added value to each other, keeping them under the eFuse banner had become confusing.

In September 2023 , eFuse laid off approximately 30% of its workforce (~30 employees) for long term financial stability.

Funding and financials

In February 2021, the company raised USD 6 million in a funding round led by the Ohio Innovation Fund with participation from several NBA and NFL stars, including Seth Curry, Denzel Ward, Ezekiel Elliott, and Chase Winovich. The funding proceeds were allocated toward customer acquisition, rolling out new products, making key hires, and leading the organization toward profitability in 2021.
