Reusable packaging
?

Based in France, Pyxo provides reusable packaging primarily for the food industry, including restaurant chains, mass catering, home delivery, and event catering. Pyxo helps companies by providing support to set up and deploy pilot projects, along with dedicated customer support before launching at scale. The company offers four main solutions:

Reuse Platform streamlines container fleet management and provides companies with flexible options for loaning, tracking, and securing containers. With features like Pyxo SMS for container borrowing and the Pyxo App for real-time tracking and reward accumulation, customers are motivated to reuse packaging. The solution is versatile and can be integrated into existing systems or adopted as a plug-and-play solution. Pyxo Pro caters to restaurant operators by simplifying container management, while Fast Scan accelerates QR code scanning for high-volume sales.

Reuse Hub is a tool that helps businesses optimize their reuse strategy by providing real-time data access through three dashboards. The Reuse Dashboard provides detailed insight into performance indicators, such as containers loaned, return rates, and average return time. It also calculates the environmental impact by how much waste is saved and how much CO2 equivalent is avoided. The Stock Dashboard monitors reusable container stock levels, while the User Dashboard analyzes end-user service usage, tracking users, frequency, distribution, and allowances.

The collection system provides a solution for the return of glass and plastic containers. Designed to integrate with existing collection units, Pyxo's collectors are manufactured in French factories using sustainable materials and aim to simplify the return process for customers. The AutoScan module improves the user experience by allowing independent decoupling by scanning a QR code.

Container rental is a logistics management solution that allows companies to tailor their container fleet to their needs. Pyxo takes responsibility for replenishment, inventory management, and ordering, allowing customers to focus on their core competencies.

As of March 2024, the company claimed a 90%+ return rate and that 40% of Pyxo users return to consume in less than a week.

Key customers and partnerships

As of February 2024, the platform was reportedly used by over 1 million end users, including Foodles, Popchef, McDonald's, Metro, and Sodexo.

Funding and financials

In November 2021, the company raised EUR 7 million (~USD 7.9 million) in funding from Eurazeo and FiveSeasons Ventures to expand its network of reusable food containers and improve its platform.
