QSimulate is a quantum software startup that develops tools for quantum molecular simulations. Its cloud-based simulation platform is aimed at the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. QSimulate leverages quantum mechanics to develop drug design and material science. With its advanced quantum mechanics-based (QM-based) simulation methods, QSimulate provides solutions to challenges in these fields, aiming to set new industry benchmarks. The company stands out for its integration of quantum and classical simulation expertise, positioning it uniquely at the intersection of these technologies. The company’s QSP Life platform includes QuValent and QuantumFP, encompassing different aspects, such as small-molecule lead optimization, covalent inhibitor design, and ultra-high-throughput molecular fingerprinting.
Key customers and partnerships
QSimulate and Google Quantum AI released the Fermionic Quantum Emulator (FQE) in November 2021, a publicly available, open-source software framework for emulating quantum computers in fermionic simulations. The release was a result of a multi-year collaboration agreement signed in 2019 to leverage Google’s expertise in quantum algorithms and QSimulate’s expertise in quantum simulation as well as build the FQE. Earlier in April 2020, the company entered into collaborations with Amgen to integrate quantum mechanics calculations into their drug discovery pipeline.
Funding and financials
In November 2023 , QSimulate secured USD 2.5 million in a funding round led by quantum technology investment firm 2xN. The proceeds were allocated to boost the business in Europe and Asia, focused around its quantum physics-based drug-discovery platform, QSP Life.
