Naborforce is a pre-care proprietary tech platform that connects aging adults to a network of care providers (Nabors) for social engagement and on-demand support with everyday tasks such as transportation, meal prep, and errands (dry cleaning, grocery shopping, etc). Nabors are typically empty nesters, retirees, stay-at-home parents, and others looking to earn flexible income under their own schedule while giving back to the senior community.
Its services are positioned to cater to older adults who don’t need a full-time caregiver but require occasional light assistance and social companionship. The platform is currently available in Richmond, Charlottesville, Raleigh, Wake County, Chapel Hill, and Durham. The Naborforce platform is on-demand; it does not have a stipulated contract or a minimum number of hours per week. Visits have a one-hour minimum charge of USD 25/hour (7am - 6pm weekdays) or USD 30/hour (evenings/weekends). Thereafter, the bill is prorated every 5 minutes.
As of June 2021, the platform had about 600 clients and over 300 enlisted Nabors, with around 9,000 visits. The company reported that its revenue grew over 1,000% during the year 2020, while its client base expanded by 800%.
Naborforce raised USD 2.5 million in a seed funding round led by Claritas Capital with the participation of Artemis Fund in September 2021. The company is expected to use the funds to support its expansion into 10 additional markets by 2022.
