Climeworks, a Swiss direct air capture (DAC) startup, has signed a nine-year carbon removal agreement with FinTech company Square.
Square will purchase 2,000 tons of carbon offsets from Climeworks under the agreement.

Climeworks has been selling DAC carbon removals since 2019 and has attracted more than 10,000 individual and business customers across 56 countries to date. Storegga and Carbon Engineering are two of the other first movers to commercialize DAC having onboarded their first customers earlier this year.</ul>
