Carbon Engineering, a Canadian direct air capture (DAC) and air-to-fuel (ATF) startup, has extended its partnership with 1PointFive, a DAC joint venture between Oxy Low Carbon Ventures and Rasheen Capital Management, to deploy DAC projects globally.
As per the partnership, the plants will use Carbon Engineering’s DAC technology, while 1PointFive will undertake the construction and deployment of the plants by leveraging Oxy’s project engineering expertise.
The two companies expect to standardize the design of the DAC plants, modularize plant components and equipment, undertake mass production, and assemble on-site DAC plants with an established supply chain.
1PointFive plans to deploy 70 DAC facilities by 2035, with a capacity to capture one million tons of CO2 per annum.
