Infarm, a Berlin-based hydroponic vertical farming system startup offering herbs and green leaves, has partnered with IKEA, the Swedish multinational ready-to-assemble furniture company, to supply Infarm’s vertical farming solution for growing herbs in three IKEA stores in Germany.
IKEA will place the modular portable vertical farming units across IKEA’s Kaarst, Duisburg, and Munich-Eching stores to promote healthy eating and sustainability to its employees. The farming units will grow herbs such as dill, curly, parsley, and basil and will be used by IKEA’s in-store restaurant to expand its culinary offerings.
