  • Community, a message-based service for celebrities, influencers, and creators to directly engage with their fans, reportedly laid off ~40 employees earlier this month. 

<ul><li> Analyst QuickTake : With this news, Community joins the list of creator economy-related companies that showed promise during the pandemic but had to resort to staff cutbacks recently due to adverse market conditions. Other examples include Cameo , a Softbank-backed creator platform, which laid off nearly a quarter of its staff in May 2022 , and Jellysmack , which laid off 8% of its staff and closed down a few of its international branches earlier this month .</ul>
