GoCardless, an open banking infrastructure provider, has expanded its platform by acquiring Latvian open banking data provider Nordigen for an undisclosed sum. The deal is set to close later in the summer.
GoCardless will access Nordigen’s APIs, which connect to over 2,300 banks in Europe, across 31 countries. Through this, GoCardless can open up access to open banking account information services (AIS), and deliver data products for several use cases including credit assessments and customer engagement.

Analyst Quicktake: Last month, GoCardless expanded its operations to Germany , to offer open banking payments and account verification services. These expansions are in line with the company’s plans to invest the funds raised earlier this year ( USD 312 million February 2022) in product and geographical expansions.
