• DroneUp, a drone solutions provider that focused on US-based operations, is looking to expand its operations into Europe. The company has also appointed Sebastian Babiarz as its head of European airspace innovation based in Poland for the purpose.

 • Babiarz brings in more than 20 years of drone and telecom industry-related experience and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s technology, regulation, safety, and new business development opportunities in Europe.

DroneUp also plans to continue the development and deployment of its Unmanned Air Traffic System Management (UTM) service across the European market via AirMap, an airspace management software company it recently acquired and where Babiarz headed strategic business development for three years till early 2021.

Analyst QuickTake: DroneUp’s expansion into Europe comes as it strengthened its US operations, especially by inking a partnership with Walmart in May to expand drone-based deliveries across six states in the US reaching four million households.
