Carbon Clean, a UK-based provider of modularized carbon capture solutions, has partnered with Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR), an NYSE-listed engineering solutions company, to collaborate on a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract. The project will be deployed at CEMEX’s (a Mexican supplier of building materials) Rudersdorf cement plant in Germany.
Under the agreement, Carbon Clean and KBR will integrate to provide FEED services for the first phase of the project. The partnership will utilize CycloneCC, Carbon Clean’s proprietary carbon capture technology.
The initial phase will capture 100 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per day and will be combined with hydrogen to produce synthetic hydrocarbons for other industries. The second phase of the project plans to scale up by an additional 300 tons per day and expects to be operational by 2026. The final phase involves scaling up to 2,000 tons per day by 2030.
