Drone Express, the drone delivery arm of TELEGRID Technologies Inc., has partnered with Winsupply, a supplier of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies, for a drone-based delivery test pilot in Ohio in early August.
The company will be delivering an item from a Wingsupply distribution center in Miami Township to its Store in Centerville, Ohio covering a distance of 3 miles. The companies plan to extend the service to include more items in the future.
TELEGRID Technologies develops and manufactures communications, networking equipment, and systems for the US military and government agencies. The Drone Express division of TELEGRID, founded in 2018, is currently working toward the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Part 135 certification, which permits commercial deliveries on a trial basis.

Analyst QuickTake: Drone-based deliveries in Centerville is not new to Drone Express, as it piloted drone-based grocery deliveries for Kroger in Centerville in May 2021. The company also partnered with Papa John’s just last month to pilot drone-based pizza deliveries in Atlanta.
