Mastercard approves Zwipe’s biometric payment card tech

Regulation/policy

 • Zwipe, a biometric payment card inlay provider, has received the Component Conformity Statement from Mastercard for its “Zwipe Pay” platform, certifying that it has met Mastercard’s security, reliability, functionality, and performance standards.

 • The certification also enables smartcard manufacturers using Zwipe to obtain Mastercard certification for their own biometric payment cards.

Analyst QuickTake: Zwipe received a similar certification from Visa earlier this year (March). Moreover, last November, Visa and Mastercard both approved Idemia’s biometric cards , featuring Zwipe’s “Pay One” card inlay platform.
