M&A

  • upGrad, an online higher education platform, announced that it has acquired Centum Learning, a corporate training solution provider, for an undisclosed amount in a share swap deal.

  • The acquisition is expected to strengthen the company’s suite of solutions. Post-acquisition, Centum Learning will operate independently under the leadership of Sanjay Bahl, its managing director and CEO.

  • The company also reported that Centum Learning has 2,000 employees and is expected to report revenue of INR 1.7 billion (~USD 21.3 million) for FY 2023.

  • Centum Learning offers impact-based training to corporates as well as vocational education and training to schools and college learners. The platform has more than 3,000 specialists and has trained more than 2 million individuals and 400+ corporate brands across India and Africa.

  • This deal follows upGrad’s acquisition of India-based test preparation provider Exampur in August 2022.
