upGrad, an online higher education platform, acquired Exampur, an India-based test preparation provider, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition is expected to strengthen upGrad’s integrated learning portfolio.
Exampur offers a content library consisting of 200+ test-preparation courses for government jobs via its 27+ YouTube channels to more than 10 million users. It also provides test series, free quizzes, live scholarship tests, a study material archive, and an e-book collection. The company expects to report a revenue of ~USD 7.5 million in FY2022.

Analyst QuickTake: upGrad is consolidating its presence in its home market via targeted acquisitions and this marks the company’s fourth India-based EdTech solution acquisition this year. The firm believes that its M&A growth strategy delivers higher returns in outcomes despite the higher customer acquisition costs involved. The company's latest additions include INSOFE (International School of Engineering) (acquired in April 2022), Wolves India (acquired in July 2022), and Harappa Education (acquired in July 2022).
