Zero Egg launched ready-to-eat plant-based scrambled egg

Product updates

  • Zero Egg, an Israeli producer of plant-based egg products, announced it will be launching what it claims to be the world's first ready-to-eat frozen plant-based scrambled egg product “Zero Egg Scoopable Scramble.”

  • The new product is made by combining the company’s cutting-edge technology and a proprietary blend of plant proteins. According to the company, the Scoopable Scramble is non-GMO, free of preservatives and gluten, low in calories and fat, and contains zero cholesterol.

  • Dot Foods, North America’s largest food distributor, will handle the distribution of the new product to foodservice operators and manufacturers.

  • Analyst QuickTake: There were many innovative launches in the plant-based egg segment in 2022, with companies introducing new products claiming to be the world’s first. In January 2022, Finnish scientists developed the world's first fungi-based egg white , followed by Evo Foods introducing the world's first heat-stable plant-based boiled egg in March 2022. Yo!Egg secured funding in May 2022 to launch the world’s first plant-based sunny-side-up and poached egg into the US market, while Neggst also raised funding for the development of the world's first plant-based egg to feature an outer shell in September 2022.
