Bboxx, an off-grid solar developer, partnered with Unilever, a global FMCG company, through its detergent brand Sunlight to accelerate the provision of clean energy access for households across Kenya.
This partnership allows Bboxx to combine its current services in Kenya with Sunlight’s distribution capacity to expand its reach in the country. Under this, there will be combined marketing campaigns, and agents with resources and training mobilized to promote clean energy solutions. The two companies aim to connect an additional one million people over the next three years.
Analyst QuickTake: This partnership comes in light of Bboxx acquiring PEG Africa, a company that finances and deploys solar power to households and SMEs to become the leading super platform for essential products and services in Africa. As such, Bboxx’s customer base, which is around 5 million people, is set to further expand with this partnership with Sunlight.
