Optibus, a mobility planning and management platform specializing in city-based bus travel, announced the opening of its regional headquarters in Rome, Italy.  

The company intends to provide access to its AI-powered suite and algorithms to local operators to increase operational efficiency and to make public transport services the primary mode of travel across Italy and Southern Europe. 

Furthermore, it plans to continue to partner with transportation providers to develop solutions to overcome industry challenges like driver shortages, adoption of EV buses, and operational challenges. The platform is currently working with Arriva Italia, the largest private bus operator in Italy, to bring EV buses and real-time operations to Italy. 

Analyst QuickTake: Optibus continues to grow its global presence by establishing headquarters in key regions. Earlier this month, the company opened its Nordic headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden, in conjunction with new customer signings. In March 2022, it opened a new office in Santiago, Chile, which became the 1000th city to adopt its platform , as well as the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, where the firm had grown its leadership team to support its local expansion (June 2022).
