Climeworks, a Swiss direct air capture (DAC) startup, has entered into a multi-year agreement with Swiss insurer Zurich Insurance.
Zurich Insurance focuses on climate strategy and operates a well-defined sustainability process. Thereby its strategic collaboration with Climeworks will allow Zurich Insurance to achieve its net-zero emissions goal by 2030.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this month Climeworks signed a 9-year carbon removal agreement with PwC Switzerland , an audit and advisory firm. Climeworks also added UBS to its customer portfolio in August 2022 as its first financial services provider, following the company’s carbon removal agreement with Microsoft in July 2022. The company has also announced the launch of Mammoth , the world’s largest DAC and storage plant, to permanently remove CO2 in June 2022.
