80 Acres Farms launches vertically produced strawberries

Product updates

  • 80 Acres Farms, a US-based vertical farm that produces greens, herbs, and vegetables, announced the launch of its vertically produced strawberry product called “Strawberry Sparkles.”

  • Strawberry Sparkles will be the newest addition to the company’s offering, which includes salad blends, microgreens, herbs, tomatoes, and cucumbers. Starting this fall, the product will be available at all Dorothy Lane Market locations and will be available at other retail locations in the future. The strawberries will also be available to customers at select restaurants such as Salazar, Mita’s, and Goose and Elder in Cincinnati.

  • Analyst QuickTake: With this announcement, 80 Acres Farms joins its peers such as Bowery Farming , Plenty , Oishii , and OnePointOne in expanding the vertically farmed produce portfolio to offer vertically produced strawberries. The company had previously stated in its Series B funding round that it planned to grow profitable crops such as strawberries and hops, and has successfully done so for strawberries now.
