Ottonomy IO, a delivery droid manufacturer, has partnered with the Norwegian postal service (Posten Norge) to trial its delivery droids “Ottobots” in Oslo, Norway.
Ottobots will be used for first-mile pickup, receiving, and delivering goods for the digital marketplace AMOI in Aker Brygge metropolitan area in Oslo.
The collaboration also includes Nordic autonomous vehicle integrator Holo which will assess the use of autonomous robots to improve Norway’s post office intra-logistics in city centers.
Analyst QuickTake: Ottonomy IO recently raised USD 3.3 million in seed funding to scale its operations to bring fully autonomous deliveries to the airport, retail, and restaurant partners in the US and Europe. Today’s partnership with one of the largest post offices might open a new customer base for the company to scale operations further in the future.
