Ottonomy IO tests delivery droids at Pittsburgh International Airport

Partnerships

  • Ottonomy IO, a delivery droid manufacturer, has begun conducting test deliveries at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) earlier this month in a pilot project in partnership with PIT’s xBridge innovation hub.

  • The company has deployed droids of its latest version (called Ottobot 2.0) at the airport to deliver water bottles to staff and volunteer travelers at predefined locations in PIT.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Ottonomy IO first launched its Ottobots in Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG Airport) in December 2021, and introduced the latest version of its robot Ottobot 2.0 this August after improving the robot further with the feedback. The necessary funds for the deployment were made available to the company in August when it raised USD 3.3 million in seed funding to scale its operations to bring fully autonomous deliveries to the airport, retail, and restaurant partners in the US and Europe.
