Estonian company Clevon (formerly Cleveron Mobility), a spin-off from Cleveron that provides ADVs for last-mile delivery, has commenced trialing its ADVs in Londerzeel, Belgium–its first trial in the country. During the trials, the ADVs will be operated between local chain retailer Colruyt Group’s distribution center and a chain store.
If trials are successful, the company will have the opportunity to partner with the same and expand operations nationwide in Belgium.
ADVs will be controlled remotely during the trials, however, the companies plan to automate the deliveries in the future.
Analyst QuickTake: Clevon’s expansion to Belgium comes after operating the ADVs in Estonia for about two and a half years in partnership with companies such as DPD, DHL Express Estonia, and IKI stores. The company also opened its US headquarters in Dallas, Texas in September but is yet to partner with US companies.
