VR app Retreat receives USD 400,000 grant from Meta

Funding

  • Retreat, a VR-based life wellness app, received an Immersive Learning Fund grant worth USD 400,000 from Meta.

  • The grant will accompany the launch of the Retreat app on the MetaQuest store in December 2022.

  • Founded in 2020, GeniusX is the developer of Retreat which claims to be the first VR app that focuses on life improvement and wellness. The app will feature a catalog of personal growth and development courses, along with the instructors and their inspiration for the course. This includes topics such as art, career, entrepreneurship, financial well-being, and relationships.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Retreat’s unique product focus differentiates it from other companies offering AR/VR platforms. Retreat’s offering is distinct from those offered by companies such as Strivr , Transfr VR , and Interplay Learning , which focus on hands-on virtual training across industries, including healthcare, automotive, and education, and  Sense Arena and WIN Reality that offer training platforms for sports such as Hockey and Baseball.
