ACE Green Recycling partners with Glencore to supply lead and key battery metal-based end products

Partnerships

  • Indian battery recycling company ACE Green Recycling has announced a 15-year supply agreement with Glencore, one of the world's largest natural resource companies and a leading producer and recycler of metals for the production of batteries.

  • As per the agreement, Glencore will purchase up to 100% of ACE's products, including lead and key battery metal-based end products made of recycled lithium-ion batteries from four of its planned lead-acid and lithium-ion battery recycling parks currently under construction in the United States , India, and Thailand .

  • These parks, slated for completion in 2024, are estimated to operate under a total annual processing capacity of 250,000 tons of lead-acid batteries and 47,000 tons of lithium-ion batteries once they start commercial-level operations. These parks altogether are expected to produce a total of 1.6 million tons of recycled metals containing lead, lithium, nickel, and cobalt.
