Ottonomy IO debuts automatic package dispenser droid ‘Yeti'

Product updates

  • Ottonomy IO, a delivery droid manufacturer, debuted its latest model of delivery droid dubbed “Yeti” at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023. The new model features an automatic package dispensing mechanism which eliminates the need for a human to be present to receive the package. The company claims its droid is now the market's first fully autonomous unattended delivery robot.

  • The droid can drop the packages onto a doorstep or transfer them into a compatible locker to be retrieved by customers later. It is also capable of making product return deliveries back to the original sellers.

  • The company currently operates in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Oslo, and Madrid, with plans to expand the service to more locations in the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Today’s debut follows Ottonomy IO’s introduction of “Ottobot 2.0,” in August 2022, which brought improved mobility to the droid. Its four-wheel drive system facilitated directional mobility, allowing the droid to move sideways and make zero-radius turns.
