Flytrex’s delivery drones receive FAA approval for commercial use

Product updates

  • Flytrex, an Israeli drone-based delivery company, has obtained the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)’s Part 135 air carrier certificate, which allows the company to launch beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) commercial drone deliveries in the US.

  • The approval was obtained through Flytrex’s long-term partner and drone delivery operator, Causey Aviation Unmanned.

  • The company intends to expand its current operations in South Carolina and Texas across the US and to include more product items (in addition to food and retail item deliveries) to serve up to 82 million households in the future.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Flytrex now becomes the fifth company to have obtained the Part 135 certification in the US. Other players to have obtained the approval include Zipline (June 2022) , Amazon Prime Air (August 2020) , UPS Flight Forward (October 2019), and Google Wing (April 2019).
