Desktop Metal launches generative AI software Live Suite

Product updates

  • Desktop Metal, a provider of additive manufacturing solutions, announced the launch of Live Suite, a premium software package to offer advanced design capabilities for metal, polymer, and ceramic parts.

  • The software suite consists of 1) Live Sinter, a tool that simplifies the production of sintered metal parts (for binder jetting) using generative AI multi-physics sintering simulation and scan-based adjustments; 2) Live Build MFG, desktop-based software to support build preparation for all binder jet 3D printing of metal, wood, ceramic, and sand designs; 3) Live Build DLP, a desktop-based software for digital light processing (DLP) printers targeting photopolymer, elastomer, and foam; and 4) Live Studio, a cloud-based build preparation software.

  • Analyst QuickTake : Desktop Metal previously upgraded its Live Sinter software to improve sinter simulation capabilities in August last year. The new upgrades using generative AI capabilities could further improve sintering capabilities. On a separate note, UK-based ToffeeAM is another software company that uses generative AI capabilities for design purposes.
