Crush Dynamics secures patent for its fermented, wine-derived ingredient

Product updates

  • Crush Dynamics, a Canadian company that turns food waste into healthy food ingredients, has obtained a patent for its fermented ingredient product that is made from wine derivatives. The patent covers the system, method, and process for the ingredient product.

  • Crush Dynamics uses its proprietary method of transforming wine-making derivatives into unique food ingredients to address the challenges in the global food industry. The company reports that its innovation can help the wine industry reach a “Zero Waste” status, and the resulting polyphenol-rich ingredients have the potential to be used in various food formulations.

  • The company hopes to use these ingredients to develop new food products that offer superior taste and texture cost-effectively while meeting consumer demand for increased sustainability and nutrition.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Last month, Crush Dynamics also unveiled a new ingredient that can significantly reduce sugar in chocolate applications. The company is yet to successfully commercialize its ingredients and plans to expand its product reach in western Canada by targeting large retail stores such as Urban Fare and Save-on-Foods as its customers. By securing the patent, the company has taken a significant step toward achieving its commercialization goals.
