llumix raises USD 18 million in Series A funding

Funding

  • Low-code AR platform Illumix raised USD 18 million in a Series A financing round, with participation from LightShed Ventures, entrepreneur Mark Cuban, and Matthew Ball, CEO of Epyllion, among others.

  • Funding is set to be utilized to accelerate the company’s expansion into new product categories.

  • Illumix provides AR solutions for the entertainment and marketing industries. It is the developer of "Five Nights at Freddy’s: Special Delivery," a popular AR mobile game where players fend off malfunctioning animatronics that "appear" in their homes. Further, Illumix offers low-code AR software solutions such as virtual-try-ons, marketing, live events, and venue-based experiences.

  • Analyst QuickTake:  Illumix's recent funding round signals renewed investor interest in AR-based marketing solutions with Spheroid Universe and Aryel raising funding in February 2023. Illumix differentiates itself from competitors by providing a range of full-stack AR solutions that do not require external development engines to function.
