Oxbotica, a UK-based developer of self-driving software for vehicles, has entered a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to fast-track the deployment of its autonomous software platform to customers in last-mile logistics, agriculture, light industry, and public transport sectors, globally.
Oxbotica will use Google Cloud products to develop, test, validate, and verify its self-driving technology and leverage Google Cloud's cybersecurity technologies to ensure the secure use of autonomous mobility technology. Oxbotica also plans to explore the impact of autonomous vehicles on congestion, public transit, etc. through the partnership.
Moreover, the partnership will enable Oxbotica’s customers to scale from single prototype vehicles to full fleets.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this year, Oxbotica mentioned its plans to accelerate deployments targeting industries such as agriculture, airports, energy, and passenger transportation, as the company raised USD 140 million in Series C funding. Today’s partnership hopes to achieve these goals for the company.
