Kodiak Robotics launches fifth-generation autonomous truck

Product updates

  • Kodiak Robotics, an autonomous truck manufacturer, has announced the launch of its new fifth-generation autonomous truck. It has increased sensor redundancy and graphic processing unit (GPU) processing power.

  • Some of its key features include advanced safety features, improved perception technology, and enhanced mapping and localization capabilities. The other features include reduced power consumption (by 50%), improved GPU processing power (by 130%), central processing power (by 60%), and decreased cooling requirements.

  • The truck also includes aerospace- and military-grade technology. Kodiak recently announced a project with the US Department of Defense to automate its future ground vehicles. The progress made in this project has laid the groundwork for the development of the fifth-generation truck.

  • Analyst QuickTake : With the launch of the new platform, we believe Kodiak Robotics will now be able to expand and strengthen its partner ecosystem further. In fact, Kodiak Robotics already has partnerships with companies such as Ceva Logistics, U.S. Xpress, and 10 Roads Express to pilot its trucks.
