Meatable, a Dutch cultivated meat producer, hosted its first tasting event in Singapore to showcase its new cultivated pork sausage.
The company, which has not yet gained regulatory approval, received an exemption to host this event from the Singapore Food Agency (SFA). According to the company, its new cultivated pork sausage was met with positive feedback from the participants, including select retail partners and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB).
The company also announced that it brought forward its commercial launch date from 2025 and now plans to enter the Singaporean market by 2024, followed by a US launch. Participants of the event will collaborate with Meatable to assist in refining and launching its products.
Analyst QuickTake: In October 2022 , Meatable partnered with contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) Esco Aster to jointly develop a line up of cultivated pork products (dumplings and sausages) ahead of its expansion into Singapore. At the time, Meatable expected to launch on a small scale by 2024, with a larger supermarket expansion planned for 2025.
