Ottonomy IO, a delivery droid manufacturer, has received a strategic investment from Italy's international airport's, Aeroporti di Roma (ADR), venture fund.
The investment is part of ADR's long-term strategy of using the latest technology and innovation to enhance customer experience.
The fund injection comes after Ottonomi IO launched a proof-of-concept (PoC) delivery service at Rome Fiumicino International Airport (FCO) operated by ADR in September 2022. During the PoC, the company’s droids served 300+ clients, accumulated 93+ miles, reported zero accidents, and maintained a three-minute delivery time on average.
Analyst QuickTake: Ottonomy has had airports in its sights for deployment for some time. The company has already launched delivery services at airports including CVG Airport and Pittsburgh International Airport in the US, in addition to the launch at FCO.
