3D Systems, a seller of 3D printers and related products, announced a partnership with Japanese product design company SWANY to promote the adoption of large-format pellet extrusion 3D printing in Japan.
Through the collaboration, SWANY is opening a new demo center to showcase 3D Systems’ EXT 1070 Titan Pellet printer. To support prototyping and production in various applications, SWANY will also offer 3D printing services, including design assistance, to the Asia-Pacific region.
Analyst QuickTake: 3D systems appear to be focused on global expansion as it acquired Swedish 3D printing company Wematter to expand its selective laser sintering (SLS) portfolio just last month. Earlier this month, the company also proposed to merge with AM company Stratasys with the aim of forming the largest pure-play additive manufacturing company in the industry, generating a revenue of USD 1.3 billion in 2024.
