3D Systems, a seller of 3D printers and related products, announced that it entered an agreement with Swedish 3D printing company Wematter, to expand its selective laser sintering (SLS) portfolio. The transaction is expected to close in July 2023.
With the acquisition, 3D Systems aims to make SLS technology available to a broader range of customers, including smaller-footprint environments like offices.
Analyst QuickTake: 3D Systems partnered with Wematter in November 2022 to become the exclusive worldwide distributor of Wematter’s 3D printing systems, Gravity. Previously, the company also partnered with ALM to add 3D Systems’ DuraForm PAx material to ALM’s portfolio, enabling its customers to use a unique copolymer that is compatible with available SLS technologies.
