CellX, a Chinese cultivated meat producer, has secured USD 6.5 million in a Series A funding round, with the participation of various investors, bringing the total funding raised by the company to over USD 20 million.
The funding will be used to complete the construction of its pilot-scale facility and initiate production. Moreover, the company plans to taste its cultivated meat products publicly shortly.
Analyst QuickTake: Earlier this year, CellX partnered with Tofflon , a Shanghai-based science and technology firm, to construct its pilot-scale facility. This facility will house 1,000-liter bioreactors and claims to be China’s first cultivated meat pilot production facility.
