Thunes raises additional USD 12 million in Series C funding

Funding

  • Thunes, a cross-border payments infrastructure provider, has raised an additional USD 12 million in Series C funding from Visa, EDBI, and Endeavor Catalyst. This adds to last month's USD 60 million raise and closes its Series C round at USD 72 million. The round values Thunes at over USD 900 million and brings its total funds raised up to ~USD 202 million.

  • Last October, Thunes partnered with Visa Direct to add cross-border “send-to-wallet” capabilities to 78 digital wallet providers, through which Thunes’ users could send funds to Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
