At its Next event, Google Cloud made several announcements regarding integrating GenAI into its products and services, specifically adding its GenAI-based Duet assistant.
"Duet" AI will be integrated into Google Cloud’s cybersecurity offering, including implementation within its subsidiary, Mandiant’s, threat intelligence platform to summarize and contextualize data and generate reports tailored to a specific audience.
Google’s “Chronicle” security operations platform will also receive the Duet treatment, allowing users to submit queries in natural language—translated to Chronicle syntax by the AI—and receive summaries, context, and remediation advice for ongoing incidents.
Finally, Duet AI will be implemented into Google Cloud’s security command center to enhance attack path simulation. The enhancements are currently available in preview and will be released generally later in the year. Duet AI will also be available for Google’s data analytics, databases, and cloud infrastructure services.
Google also announced several other cybersecurity initiatives, including a managed threat-hunting service through Mandiant and integrations with Tenable and Palo Alto Networks.
Analyst QuickTake: Google is among many significant players that have continued integrating GenAI into cybersecurity products and tooling through 2023. In August, Versa introduced GenAI into its SASE platform for chatbot assistance and to detect anomalies. Lookout and Tenable announced GenAI solutions that offer cybersecurity assistance and analysis capabilities. Finally, Netskope launched a solution to secure GenAI through its SASE platform in June.
