Flytrex, an Israeli drone-based delivery company, has launched Autonomous Pickup, a new capability that enables fully autonomous delivery from order placement to customer delivery.
Autonomous Pickup allows Flytrex drones to pick up orders via dropdown wire and fly directly to customers' homes for delivery. The process eliminates the need for human involvement and claims to reduce delivery time to approximately five minutes.
The company has partnered with restaurants and retailers, including Unilever’s The Ice Cream Shop, Papa Johns, Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, and Little Caesars, to implement this autonomous delivery process.
Analyst QuickTake: In comparison, its rival incumbent and Alphabet’s drone delivery division, Wing, also unveiled similar autonomous pickup and delivery features for its drones in March 2023, with plans to roll out the system in 2024.
