StoreDot partners with Polestar to integrate extreme fast charging battery technology in EVs

Partnerships

  • StoreDot, an Israeli extreme fast charging (XFC) battery developer, has partnered with Polestar, an automotive brand focused on electric performance cars, to explore and apply XFC technology in EVs.

  • Under this partnership, Polestar and StoreDot are endeavoring to demonstrate the feasibility of StoreDot’s XFC battery-cell technology in a real-world scenario. They are working on applying this technology to a Polestar 5 prototype vehicle expected to be ready by 2024.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Last month , StoreDot partnered with Flex|N|Gate, a global automotive component manufacturer, to sample and scale up the commercialization of StoreDot's batteries. As such, StoreDot’s 100in5 battery cells will be produced at Flex|N|Gate’s lithium-ion cell pilot factory in Windsor, Ontario, in 2024. The company also partnered with Volvo Cars in September 2023 , where the two companies agreed to develop an EV battery for the upcoming generation of Volvo EVs.
