Spanish plant-based food company Heura and plant-based consumer product company Upfield have announced plans to form a strategic partnership to expedite plant-based innovation.
This collaboration will include strategic investments to accelerate the protein transition and set new industry standards, with plans to expand internationally and collaborate with other industry players. In addition, Heura and Upfield will partner to develop food technology for superior plant-based products, combining Heura’s innovative solutions and Upfield’s extensive experience.
Analyst QuickTake: Upfield was one of the investors in Heura’s recent EUR 40 million (~USD 43 million) Series B funding round. With a retail footprint of 18,000 locations and a global presence in 13 countries, Heura is among the frontrunners in the plant-based industry, along with companies like Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods .
