Peugeot to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT in voice assistant for enhanced interactivity

Partnerships

  • Stellantis-owned French car brand Peugeot has announced its plans to integrate OpenAI's AI chatbot, ChatGPT, in its cars and vans as an advanced voice assistant.

  • Initially, a pilot version of ChatGPT will be launched in five countries: France, Britain, Germany, Italy, and Spain to connect to vehicle controls and answer general or navigation-related questions.

  • This feature will be standard in its upcoming e-3008 model and its smaller commercial vehicles this year.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The automotive industry has witnessed an increasing discourse surrounding the possibilities of incorporating GenAI technologies. Automakers and auto part manufacturers, including General Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, and Continental , have collaborated with various GenAI tech providers for similar purposes.
