Optibus partners with Geoactio to bring GTFS Manager to Spanish market

Geographic expansion
Partnerships

  • Optibus, a mobility planning and management platform specialized in urban bus transport, has partnered with Geoactio, a firm specialized in mobile access control and mobility solutions, to extend its transit data management software, GTFS Manager, to Spain, making it available to the European market for the first time.

  • GTFS Manager, a cloud-based software, is designed to manage transit data in trip planning applications. It has an easy-to-use interface, through which agencies can manage, update, and visualize their transit data. Key features include maintenance of required and optional GTFS data such as routes, trips, stop times, transfer preferences, service calendars, holidays, and fare schedules.

  • The company reports that the solution has been deployed by 350+ operators in the US and Canada.

  • Analyst Quicktake: Optibus acquired GTFS Manager through its earlier acquisition of Trillium in April 2022 , a move aimed at expanding its product offering and strengthening its position in North America. Trillium, a developer of multimodal mobility solutions, brought expertise in public transit data, specifically the General Transit Feed Specification (GTFS), which is essential for improving passenger communication and facilitating real-time service information. The recent extension of GTFS Manager to Spain represents Optibus' strategic global expansion, leveraging the acquired solution to provide advanced transit data management capabilities to the European market.
