EFISHient Protein completes development of Tilapia cell line

Product updates

  • EFISHient Protein, an Israeli cultivated meat startup, has completed the development of a Tilapia cell line, paving the way for sustainable, cultivated seafood production.

  • This cell line can be used to produce muscle and fat cells of Tilapia, contributing significantly toward the establishment of a genetic cell bank. Furthermore, the company plans to scale production and provide its technology to B2B customers at cost-competitive prices.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The company unveiled its first Tilapia prototype based on the Nile Tilapia in December 2023 . It aims to eventually cultivate fish without animal-derived serum and expedite the development of sustainable white fish alternatives.
