Infinium partners with Kinetik for CO2 reuse in eFuels production

Partnerships

  • Infinium, a developer of low-carbon electrofuels (eFuels), has signed an agreement with a subsidiary of midstream energy company Kinetik Holdings to purchase CO2 captured from Kinetik's processing system for use in the production of eFuels.

  • Under the long-term agreement, a subsidiary of Kinetic will deliver CO2 captured at one of its amine gas processing facilities in West Texas to Infinium for use at its second eFuels project, "Project Roadrunner." The project will produce Infinium eSAF using waste CO2 and green hydrogen to reduce GHG emissions from the aviation industry.

  • Analyst QuickTake: Infinium previously secured a USD 75 million investment from Breakthrough Energy Catalyst to fund Project Roadrunner in November 2023. In addition, American Airlines signed on as the first off-take partner for eSAF produced at Project Roadrunner. In March 2024 , Infinium also unveiled the world's first commercial-scale eFuels facility, Project Pathfinder, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and has more than a dozen other projects under development globally in the US, EU, Japan, and Australia.
