German biotech firm MyriaMeat has announced the creation of a lab-grown pork fillet made entirely from pig cells. Developed in just one year, it claims to surpass similar products as it does not rely on scaffolds or added plant protein blends for support.
The cultivated pork fillet is produced using patented medical technology based on pluripotent and parthenogenetic stem cells. This unique technology supports natural muscle growth, enabling MyriaMeat to cultivate whole meat pieces without the need for fillers or genetic modifications and the ability to contract like real meat.
MyriaMeat, founded in 2022 by Researchers from the University of Göttingen, uses medical technology to develop cultivated meats. It employs patented technology to produce 100% cell-cultured meats that do not include plant-based ingredients.
Analyst QuickTake: In February 2023 , 3D Bio Tissue, a subsidiary of BSF Enterprise, also unveiled a 100% cultivated pork steak filet made solely with pig cells without using any plant-based scaffolds, blends, or fillers. Innovations like this could lead to a reduction in production costs as it lowers the number of ingredients required.
